Week 3...

I am slowly getting better at being good.  :)  I have now gone 3 weeks without caffeine, 2 weeks without soda, and 2 weeks with exercising most days.  :)  As of last Monday I had lost a couple pounds.
Today is the start of a rough week (read: Aunt Flo is visiting for the first time in 2 years...) so I am not going to weigh in today.  Suffice it to say, Paul can see that I'm losing weight!  :)
This week's goal?  Work in the healthy eating stuff.  Quit all the crap eating I do on a daily basis.  Limit treats and sweets as much as possible.  And stop eating after 7 PM.  That is all.  :)

I'm BAA-AACK!!!

So, I am so sorry friends.  My life got crazy through the holiday season.  And all my resolves went to the dogs.
I sit before you now - even plumper than before.
BUT - I have had a breakthrough.
I DO HAVE WILLPOWER!!!
I honestly didn't know if I did - I've been seriously struggling with it in the last couple years.
Or I will do well for a couple weeks and then lose it when I don't see instant results.
It may be small - but I have GIVEN UP CAFFEINE!  Without headaches!  I was amazed!
A big part of that, I believe, is from the fact that my baby is FINALLY (finally) sleeping through the night most nights.  Therefore I am not as tired and not as dependent on caffeine to get through the day.
Strike that - I am not dependent on caffeine AT ALL!  :)

I have will power.
And I am making small goals for each week to focus on.
My goal for next week (starting tomorrow - Saturday - why not?  It's not about starting on Mondays!) is to exercise every day.  For 30 minutes or more a day.  I will weigh on Monday morning, and again the next Monday to see how it goes!  Wish me luck!

Catherine's Monday Update

So, I did all dancing & pilates workouts for a week. Holy kick my butt!!
But, although I didn't lose any weight (I was 165 this morning), I am losing some inches. My waist and legs are a little slimmer, woo hoo.  Hopefully I can start running again now that it's getting cooler (I don't do well in the heat). And I am going to try with all my might to eat a little less chocolate and be 163 by next Monday.

Terrible at Posting

I will admit I have never been able to get into this blogging thing. I have been struggling to keep on track with my weight loss. Something always seems to come up that makes me think I need to turn to food for comfort, celebration, vindication, etc. It's terrible to rely on food to feel better. I'm slowly getting better though as I realize how good I feel when I eat healthy. I love how light I feel after a day of just fruits and veggies. A couple of days ago I made a recipe for Mexican Black beans that is healthy and very delicious. Now I'm using that as flavor in my salads instead of very fattening dressing. It's wonderful and it tastes so good! I'm down to 202 so at least I've lost a little weight. I am also getting out and jogging more. Evie and I are discovering how fun it is to go down to the Sammamish River Trail and walk/jog next to the water. We get to see ducks and geese and even a heron/egret? catching and eating a fish yesterday. I just need to keep all these good feelings in mind whenever I'm tempted to eat something bad for me. I'm going to try to update this blog at least once a week too!

Catherine's Monday Update

Well, after 2 weeks of muscle building workouts I now weigh 165. But, I'm hoping that the weight gain is just muscle and that it will help me start burning more fat off. This week I'm going to try to do all dancing workouts. Dance workouts kick my butt every time! So my thought is, I've got the extra muscle, now time to push hard with cardio to burn off some weight. Think it'll work?  I hope so!

Catherine's Monday Update

Am I the only one here?  Echo, echo.....
Anyway, I didn't post last monday because I was on vacay, but now I think I'll just post every 2 weeks.
This morning I weighed....163!!! Woo Hoo! I made my first goal of losing 4 pounds!  Now it's time to lose 4 more.  For the next two weeks I'm going to change up my exercise a bit. I will be doing primarily weight lifting. The reasons for this are A) muscle burns way more calories than fat so I want to try and up my muscle a bit
B) I don't want to get into a plateau like I usually do, so this way I'll surprise my body and hopefully won't get stuck here.

Oh, and I decided how to reward myself for accomplishing my big goal. I'm going to splurge and get some Mederma for my horrible stretch marks my two pregnancies caused!

Catherine's Monday Update

I did pretty good on my goals this week-but not perfect. 
Today I did a killer dancing workout! Dance workouts always kick my butt, I guess I should do them more often!  Anyway, my weight was back down to 164.5 this morning so at least I'm headed in the right direction again. I am hoping to get below 164 by next Monday.
